Architecture & Technology

Fraxses is microservices-based. This architecture facilitates componentisation, allowing different development teams to work simultaneously on independently deployable units of code. Each unit of processing by a microservice is called an event, while the chain of these processing units is known as an event stream or action. The configuration of the event streams is handled by the platform’s Events Engine. 

Fraxses leverages Kubernetes for optimal scalability. The platform is built predominantly on open source software, including Apache Kafka, Spark and ZooKeeper, Elasticsearch, Kibana and Thrift, amongst other leading technologies. Fraxses can be deployed on any cloud provider, on-premise, or as a hybrid solution. 

The platform comprises various components that perform different tasks. Key modules include:

Fraxses’ front-end, comprising menu options to execute the platform’s various functions

A data visualisation module with embedded business analytics powered by Yellowfin


An integration module that facilitates both real-time data integration and ETL

A low-code/no-code development platform via which applications can be embedded into Fraxses

Security

Fraxses incorporates advanced features to ensure that organisations can maximise their data security.

Active Directory (AD) Integration facilitates the seamless integration of Fraxses into corporate security structures and policies, eliminating duplication and allowing for easier management. Security Layers allow a single structure to be used to expose data to multiple applications, while Sensitive Data Masking provides the ability to restrict access to sensitive information at a Data Object level, before it is extracted or made available to users. Thus the platform gives organisations complete control over who can see what, without having to make coding changes or write different views for different users. Finally, Encryption involving a 3-way protocol can be applied to all communication within Fraxses.

Implementation begins with a 6-week point solution to demonstrate the platform’s capability to deliver what you require. The point solution comprises 4 steps. First, Fraxses is connected to your organisation’s data sources during the Connect step. The next step, Discover, involves the detection of automated data. In the third step, Configure, Data Objects are created. Interact is the final step, during which your users start utilising Fraxses to interact with data. 

Upgrading from point solution to a full implementation is a seamless process with no additional setup costs. Our licensed model phases are Explore (full Fraxses deployment to discover features, find and build use cases), Embed (operationalise domain use cases and embed enterprise governance) and Evolve (Fraxses fully embedded and servicing core business activities).
