Dear Reader,

Pangolin is here!

As recently announced on social media, the brand new version of Fraxses is called Pangolin – and we’re pleased to let you know that it is now available.

Pangolin follows on from 2024’s Cheetah, which as the fastest version of Fraxses to date, has more than lived up to its name. If you’re wondering why the new release is named after a creature not known for its speed, never fear: the name is inspired by the pangolin’s resilience, adaptability, and ingenious defensive strategy, rather than how swiftly it can move. When it comes to performance, Pangolin is every bit as fast as Cheetah, but builds on the success of its predecessor with a series of front-end enhancements and improved interoperability with Microsoft Azure.

As the hub where users conduct most of their interactions with data, the Object Builder is central to the Fraxses experience, and has been the key area of focus in the development of Pangolin. It features a number of upgrades that significantly elevate the user experience. These include Session Persistence, whereby Data Objects remain in the same state for the duration of the current session. This much requested feature saves users the hassle of having to reopen the Objects they were busy with each time they exit and then re-enter the Object Builder.

A new Object Workspace enables easy configuration and quick filtering of Objects. Relationships between tables can now be created via a simple drag-and-drop process, with streamlined information display and navigation allowing for a cleaner display with fewer tabs. The structuring of Entities has also been improved: they are now structured by Data Source for easier management, while a new Advanced Search feature enables efficient filtering across fields. The Legoz Menu and Object Library can be collapsed to enlarge the canvas, making it easier to work with complex Objects. And finally, Data Object displays have been simplified to only show header information by default, with options to expand views as needed.

That’s just a high level overview of the new features you’ll find in Pangolin. Read our blog and watch the Pangolin Release Notes video on our YouTube channel for more information about the new release.
